The Art of Being Human: Get Involved
Have we become so busy building a life that we've forgotten how to live it?
A movement for humanity in the age of AI.
Creating a global movement to tackle burnout, loneliness and disconnection through storytelling, conversation and cultural change.
Championing women in film through an all-female crew while amplifying diverse voices and lived experiences from around the world.
Transforming a documentary into a lasting legacy of community conversations, workplace change and social impact.
We are living through one of the greatest paradoxes in human history. We have never been more connected, yet loneliness is rising.
We have never had more technology, convenience and opportunity, yet burnout, stress and exhaustion have become defining features of modern life.
We have learned how to optimise almost everything, except what it means to be human.
The Art of Being Human is a global storytelling movement and documentary project exploring how people can remain deeply human in a rapidly changing, technology-driven world. At its core, the initiative asks a simple but urgent question:
How do we stay human in a world that is optimised for productivity, speed and performance?
Beneath the statistics on burnout, mental health, loneliness and disconnection lies a deeper question that many people are quietly asking: Is success costing us the very things that make life meaningful?
The Art of Being Human seeks to spark a global conversation about what truly matters. To return home to the parts of ourselves that modern life too often asks us to leave behind.
Through documentary storytelling, community conversations, workplace engagement and a global collection of human stories, this movement aims to help create a future where progress and humanity can coexist. We believe this conversation has never been more important. And we cannot build it alone.

the movement
This project is designed as a movement with three integrated layers:
1 The Documentary (Catalyst). A feature documentary capturing intimate human stories. The film is designed to be emotionally resonant and globally relevant, providing a shared entry point into the wider movement. In what is a very male dominated environment we’re using an all female crew to this documentary.
2 The Movement (Engagement). The documentary activates a broader participatory movement that extends into:
Community Conversations: Facilitated discussions hosted in workplaces, schools, universities and community spaces exploring core questions.
Global Story Collection: A scalable platform inviting people to share personal reflections on what it means to be human, building a collective archive of lived experience.
Workplace & Leadership Engagement: Programmes designed to support organisations in addressing burnout, belonging and sustainable performance, particularly with a focus on women in leadership and caregiving roles.
3 The Legacy (Systems & Cultural Change). Longer-term impact is focused on embedding insights into workplace wellbeing practices, leadership and organisational culture, education and emotional literacy conversations as well as community-based connection initiatives.
impact
This movement is designed to engage:
People navigating leadership, caregiving and identity pressures
Workplace leaders and organisations addressing burnout and retention
Young people navigating identity in digital-first environments
Communities experiencing loneliness or disconnection
Broader public audiences seeking meaning, balance and belonging
If we create emotionally resonant storytelling that reflects shared human experience, and pair it with structured opportunities for reflection, conversation and participation, then:
individuals feel less isolated in their experience
cultural narratives around success and worth begin to shift
workplaces and communities begin to adopt more human-centred practices
collective understanding of wellbeing expands beyond productivity
Over time, the project aims to:
Reach global audiences through documentary distribution and digital storytelling
Engage communities in facilitated conversations about wellbeing and identity
Build a large-scale collection of lived human stories
Influence workplace wellbeing practices and leadership approaches
Contribute to shifting cultural narratives around success, rest and belonging
We are seeking funding partners who are aligned with:
mental health and wellbeing
social connection and loneliness reduction
workplace transformation and burnout prevention
cultural storytelling and narrative change
Funding will support:
post production of the documentary
development of the movement platform
global story collection infrastructure
community engagement and facilitation programmes
impact measurement and evaluation
We are inviting partners to help seed a global cultural movement. At a time when technology is reshaping how we live, we are asking a fundamental question: How do we remain human?
