I went on to write 8 books about it and now help others do the same.

Work-life balance expert and gender equity champion. A senior leader with a background in Human Resources roles. After a brush with burnout I spent time studying with Buddhist monks and nuns, I use ancient wisdom to solve modern problems and am on a mission to put the ‘being’ back into human-being.

A successful career, a senior role, company car and beach house – I had all the hallmarks of success. I hit 31 and it all came crashing down. My career was suffocating my soul but I didn’t know what else I could do that still made me successful. My relationship was falling apart but I couldn’t be true to who I was. I threw myself into work as a distraction, I kept over working in a bid to prove myself and eventually hit burnout.
This changed everything. I spent time with Buddhist monks and nuns in monasteries and retreat centres, recovering but also learning a new way of being. I came out and finally embraced my authentic self and I started to build the life of my dreams. I went on to write 8 books about it, a TEDx talk and a fair bit of media. Still with the same worries if I was good enough, still balancing the same always on busyness yet now from a place of calm and clarity, grounded in the things that make me unique and aligned to what matters.
